With the reelection of Netanyahu; Israelis give the middle finger to America *Updated

netanyahuPut someone under enough stress and they will tell you the truth. This is how police interrogations are conducted. Put someone in a small room, deprive them of outside contact, and make sure they understand that this interrogation may be never-ending. Some people will then crack and confess to whatever crime they have been accused of. The ultimate form of stress, of course, is torture. However, using torture can actually elicit false confessions.

When the Prime Minister of Israel, Bibi Netanyahu, found himself under tremendous stress a couple of days ago; when it looked like he would lose his reelection bid; the confession came out. Netanyahu told the world – in direct opposition to what he has been saying for years – that he does not want peace with Palestine. He said that as long as he is Prime Minister of Israel, there will never be a two-state solution with Palestine.

A couple of weeks ago, in an unprecedented move, the Republicans in the U.S. invited Netanyahu to speak to a joint session of Congress. Never before had a leader of a foreign country been invited to the U.S. without going through the White House. Netanyahu was invited to America in a nakedly political ploy to derail the peace process with Iran. A peace process both him and the Republican Party do not want.

As if that weren’t enough, 47 Republican Senators sent a letter to the leadership of Iran telling them that any peace deal they make with the Obama administration isn’t worth the paper it is printed upon. One paper in New York called these 47 Senators traitors. The Logan Act is what determines what is and what isn’t treason. Depending upon how you interpret the Logan Act, these 47 Senators could be tried for treason.

For years we have been hearing that Israel is our greatest ally in the region. We have to support Israel because they are supporting America’s interests in the Middle East. That is no longer true. Netanyahu and the State of Israel are now working directly against America’s best interests in the Middle East. Israel is not our ally now, if they ever were in the first place. They are working against us, which means they are the exact opposite of an ally: An enemy or opponent. Either way Israel needs to be cut loose to go its own way. How can America support a country that is working so hard to stop all of the peace talks in the Middle East?

ally
noun
close political allies: associate, colleague, friend, confederate, partner, supporter; (allies) informal peeps. ANTONYMS enemy, opponent.

By supporting Israel with money and military equipment we are also working against our own best interests. If you want peace in the Middle East, it has to be done in spite of Israel since they have just shown they have no interest in working with the U.S.

President George W. Bush, in an address to a joint session of Congress on September 20, 2001 said, “Either you are with us, or you are with the terrorists.” Netanyahu and Israel are not with us, (America). The rest is clear. America wants peace, Israel wants war.

*Update:
Monday, March 16th : Asked by an interviewer with the Israeli news site, NRG, if it was true that a Palestinian nation would never [emphasis added] be formed while he’s prime minister, Netanyahu replied, “Indeed.”

Thursday, March 19th : Netanyahu in an interview with MSNBC’s Andrea Mitchell: “I want a sustainable, peaceful two state solution.”

When I saw the interview I could not believe what Netanyahu was saying. I could not believe that he could sit there and lie with such ease especially because he had said the exact opposite just three days ago. Apparently the Prime Minister of Israel thinks the people in America are stupid.

Benjamin Netanyahu is a liar and cannot be trusted. He does not want peace. He wants war.
