The Exponential Rise of Republican Presidential Criminality

GOP in jailFor decades the Republicans and Conservatives have been telling the American people there is no difference between the two parties. The reason is simple: Low voter turnout elections favor the Republicans. If the voters are apathetic, less will come out to vote. However in this article I am going to point out just one of the major differences between the two parties: Criminality.

Even though Republicans in Congress have investigated Democratic presidents incessantly, the very worse they could come up with was President Clinton’s dalliance with Monica Lewinsky. That hardly rises to the level of what Republican presidents have been in engaged in.

The past three two-term Republican presidents, (Nixon, Reagan, and G.W. Bush), have been engaged in illegal criminal acts. Each criminal act was also more egregious than the one before it. Since there was no accountability for these criminal acts, there is no reason to think they won’t continue into the next Republican presidency.

NIXON: President Richard Nixon ordered the break-in of the Democratic National Committee headquarters at the Watergate Hotel. When he ordered that burglary, he broke domestic law. He held himself somewhat accountable when he resigned the presidency. No one else held him accountable, and he enjoyed a relatively nice life until he died. He probably spent the rest of his life wishing he hadn’t resigned, especially after watching the next two-term Republican president get away with much, much worse.

REAGAN: President Ronald Reagan wanted to give money to Nicaraguan rebels to help them overthrow their government. He went to Congress to get the funds, and Congress told him no. Not one to be stopped by something as silly as the law, Reagan decided to sell arms to Iran and then use that money to help the rebels in what became known as the Iran-Contra affair.

At the time Reagan decided to sell arms to Iran, there was a domestic and international ban on selling weapons to Iran. Reagan didn’t care because Conservative ideology, to a Conservative, is more important than any set of laws, or morality, or fairness; basically, God is the only thing more important to a Conservative than their ideology. Since their ideology and their theology is all wrapped up together; God has become a part of their twisted ideology. They think that conservative ideology is God’s ideology.

GW BUSH: As Rachel Maddow’s new documentary shows, (Iraq; Why we Did it) , based on recently released documents, the planning stages for the invasion of Iraq began in February of 2001, 7 months prior to the terrorist attacks on September 11th, 2001.

America invaded Iraq to secure the Iraqi oilfields for Western powers. That has now been proven beyond a shadow of a doubt. America did start a war murdering over 186,000 people for oil.

Then, for fun, I guess, the Bush administration began a torture program, removing forever America’s moral argument. America can never again claim to have any kind of moral superiority over anyone. GW Bush and Dick Cheney have shown the world that America isn’t any better than any country and worse than many.

This was done in our name so every American must take responsibility for the deaths of thousands, and the torture of hundreds.

So here’s what we have:

NIXON: A domestic criminal.

REAGAN: A domestic criminal and an international criminal.

GW BUSH: A domestic criminal, an international criminal and a war criminal.

If past is prologue, which it frequently is, we can reach some conclusions: The next Republican presidential administration is going to engage in criminal acts. We can also conclude that the criminal acts the next Republican president engages in, will be exponentially worse than what GW Bush did.

Who knows what that might be: Civil war? Nuclear war? I know I would rather not find out.
